Race Course Update!!

"The beach was gorgeous all the way out to the half-marathon turn-around. Nice and clean, with a wide, hard-packed swash zone. " 

Race course maps will be made available online very shortly, and most certainly by Packet Pickup and on Race Day!

The 2012 simplified courses will be mostly down and back on the beach this year. Enjoy your race island style!

The second (southern) leg of the half marathon was fabulous! It was about 65 and sunny, which might be the same weather as race day. The sand was flat and well packed, and the sargassum weed was not a problem. It was the kind of morning that reminds me why I love south Texas!

A few of us ran the relay third leg (most of the 10K course) yesterday. It was beautiful! The county and city must have been out there recently with the equipment because the beach was packed and wide as a highway from the northern edge of the course the way to the Pavilion.
